Requirements
- An Instagram professional account — Business or Creator.
- Access to log in to that account on Instagram’s login screen.
How the connection works
MuChat uses Instagram’s official API. You approve access on Instagram’s own login screen; MuChat receives a token that lets it read and reply to comments and messages on your behalf. The token is stored encrypted (AES-256-GCM) and your password is never shared with us.
How many channels a workspace connects depends on the plan — 2 on Free, 2 on Essential, 3 on Pro, unlimited on Business and unlimited on Advanced. Every Instagram account counts as one channel, and so does Messenger, WhatsApp, Telegram, SMS or Email. Instagram accounts are under Settings → Channels → Instagram, where “Show this account” picks the one new automations, growth tools and the simulator use. Each account keeps its own automations and contacts.
Disconnecting
Go to Settings → Channels → Instagram and choose Disconnect.
