Excellent at automation, expensive as you grow
Manychat is the most complete DM automation tool there is: every major channel, a mature flow builder and a huge library of templates and tutorials. The catch is price. The free plan stops at 25 contacts, AI starts on Pro, and the bill grows with every person your automations talk to.

- The price rises with your audience: past 250 contacts on Essential, each extra one costs $0.10.
- Manychat AI is only on Pro ($39 a month) and up.
- Billing is the most common complaint in public reviews: automatic renewals and charges people didn't expect.
- So many features that a simple comment-to-DM setup can feel heavy at first.
High marks from users, low marks on billing
Manychat's two big public ratings tell different stories. G2 reviews come mostly from people who use it for work; Trustpilot is open to anyone, and its own summary says recent reviewers mostly complain about unexpected charges, automatic renewals and expensive plans.

Who Manychat is for, and who it isn't
A good fit
- Brands that sell on several channels and want one tool for all of them.
- Agencies that build flows for clients and value the template ecosystem.
- Teams that need AI replies and already budget for Pro or Business.
Look elsewhere if
- You mainly need Instagram comment and story replies, on a small budget.
- You're just starting and 25 free contacts won't last a single post.
- Your audience is large and a per-contact price would get expensive.

Manychat review questions
Can I trust Manychat?
Yes, as a product. Manychat runs on Meta's official messaging APIs, says it's a Meta business partner, and has been around since 2015. The complaints people post are mostly about billing: plans renew automatically and the price rises with your contacts, so check your renewal date and contact count before each billing period.
Is there a better app than Manychat?
It depends on what you need. For the most channels and the biggest template ecosystem, Manychat is hard to beat. For Instagram on a smaller budget, MuChat has the same plan ladder at lower prices and a free plan for 100 contacts instead of 25. For a large audience and AI replies on a flat price, Chatfuel is worth a look.

Yes. It's a real company with a real product, rated 4.5 out of 5 on G2. Its lower Trustpilot score (2.1 out of 5) comes mostly from billing and support complaints rather than from the product not working.
