How to set up Instagram DM automation
The steps are the same in Manychat and in MuChat:
Step 1
Use a professional account
Instagram only lets tools message for Business and Creator accounts. Switching is free, in Instagram's settings.
Step 2
Connect Instagram
Log in through Instagram's own login screen. The tool never sees your password.
Step 3
Pick an automation
Start from a ready-made one, such as "comment a keyword, get a link in DMs", and write your own message.
Step 4
Go live, then post
Switch it on and tell people what to comment. Every matching comment gets a DM within seconds.
Is it allowed? Yes, within Instagram's rules

- Reply only: a business can message people who contacted it first, by comment, story reply or DM. No cold messages.
- 24 hours: after someone's last message, a business can message them freely for 24 hours. Each new message from them restarts the clock.
- One reply per comment: a comment allows one private reply, sent within seven days. Tapping a button in it opens the full conversation.
