Set up in three questions

Answer three questions. Get a working automation.

Comment templates don’t drop you into a blank editor. Pick the post, pick the words, say what they get — and the template is built around your answers, with a live preview of the DM as you type.

  • A specific post or reel, all of them, or the next one you publish
  • Specific keywords, or any comment at all
  • Your message and link buttons, checked before you continue

A template is a starting point, not a script

Everything a template creates is an ordinary automation. Change any of it before — or after — it goes live.

Opens as a draft

Nothing goes live until you press Go Live, so you can rewrite every message, button and keyword first.

Sounds like you

Drop in {{first_name}}, @username or your own fields with the Personalize menu, with a fallback for anyone missing one.

Add more triggers

Flow Builder templates can start from comments, DM keywords and story replies at once — each trigger switched on or off on its own.

Rewire it in the Flow Builder

Flow templates open on the canvas: add conditions, delays, A/B paths or a hand-off to another automation.

Publish when ready

Flow Builder automations keep a draft and a published version, with history you can restore.

Or start from scratch

Choose a Quick Automation for one trigger and one set of messages, or a blank canvas in the Flow Builder.

Personalisation

Every template can greet people by name

Templates come with sensible wording. Make it personal with tokens for first name, @username, your account name, contact fields and bot fields — each with a fallback, so nobody sees an empty gap.

Hey First name! Here’s the size guide for Account name 👇 Your code is vip_code.

Hey Maya! Here’s the size guide for Northside Studio 👇 Your code is VIP15.

No name on file? {{first_name|there}} falls back to “there”.

Account templates

Package your whole setup and hand it over

Built something that works? Clone your account into a new workspace in one click, or download it as an account template — automations, sequences, folders, tags, contact fields, bot fields and segments in one JSON file. Paste it into another MuChat account and everything arrives there, with automations as drafts to review.

  • No contacts, conversations, message history or Instagram connection — safe to share
  • Ideal for agencies setting up a new client, or brands with more than one account
  • Tags and fields that already exist in the other account are kept, not duplicated

Template questions

Are there templates for Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp?

Not yet. MuChat works with Instagram today, and every template is an Instagram automation. Messenger and WhatsApp are on the roadmap; their templates will arrive with the channels themselves.

Are templates free?

Yes. Every template is available on every plan, including Free. What differs by plan is how many automations can be live at the same time.

Does using a template publish anything?

No. A template creates a draft automation in your account. It only starts replying when you press Go Live.

Can I change a template after it’s live?

Yes — it’s your automation from the moment you create it. Edit the words, keywords, buttons or steps whenever you like.

What’s the difference between Quick Automation and Flow Builder templates?

Quick Automations have one trigger and a short set of messages, set up on a single page. Flow Builder templates are multi-step conversations on a canvas, with conditions, delays and branches you can rewire.

What’s in an account template?

Your automations, sequences, folders, tags, contact fields, bot fields and segments. It never includes contacts, conversations, message history or your Instagram connection. Create one under Settings → Clone & templates — or use Clone this account there to copy the same setup into a new workspace you can switch to straight away.

Do imported automations start sending straight away?

No. They arrive as drafts — check the wording, then switch each one on. Import into an account that already has Instagram connected; without a connection the automations are left out and only sequences, tags, fields and segments come in.

Pick one. Change the words. Go live.

Every template opens in the editor with the text, buttons and keywords already filled in — make them yours and publish.
