How MuChat counts results

What the dashboard numbers and click-through rate mean.

The home dashboard

  • New contacts — people who became contacts in the last 7 days.
  • Automation runs — times an automation started for someone in the last 7 days.
  • Messages sent — messages sent in the last 7 days, not counting failed sends.
  • Link clicks — all clicks on tracked links, all time.
  • A daily chart of messages sent over the last week.

Insights

Insights, in the sidebar, covers your whole account for the last 7, 30 or 90 days:

  • New contacts — everyone who became a contact in the window, including imports.
  • Messages sent — every DM that went out, not counting failed sends, and how many different contacts they reached.
  • Automation runs — times an automation started, and the share that ran to the end.
  • Link clicks — clicks on links your automations sent, counted on the day each click happens.
  • A daily chart of messages sent, runs and link clicks.
  • Best and weakest click-through — automations with at least 5 runs, ranked.
  • A table of every automation with runs, sends, clicks and click-through rate, sortable by any column.

If any messages failed to send in the window, Insights says how many. The usual cause is Instagram’s 24-hour window closing before the reply went out.

Per automation

The Automations list shows each automation’s runs and its click-through rate: the number of tracked links that were clicked, compared with how many times the automation ran. Flow Builder automations also have Metrics — their own totals and daily chart — and each step on the canvas shows its sends, clicks and click-through rate.

Tracked links

Links in automation buttons are sent as short MuChat links. When someone taps one, the click is recorded and they’re redirected straight to your URL.
