Messenger link questions
What is an m.me link?
m.me is Meta's short address for Messenger. m.me/ followed by your Page's username opens a chat with your Page, or the existing chat if the person has messaged you before. It works in the Messenger app and on the web.
How do I find my Page's m.me link?
It's m.me/ followed by the username in your Page's address: facebook.com/yourshop becomes m.me/yourshop. If your Page has no username, its address shows a number (profile.php?id=…): paste that, and the tool uses the Page ID instead.
Can the link include a message?
Yes. Meta's ?text= parameter puts your message in the person's message box, ready to send. They can still change it before sending.
What does the tracking tag do?
It's Meta's ?ref= parameter. When the chat opens, Meta passes the tag to your Page's messaging tools, so an automation can tell which link or QR code someone used and reply to match. Meta says tags may not arrive on some Android phones or for Pages with country limits; the link still opens the chat.
Does someone need to like my Page first?
No. Anyone with Messenger can open the chat, and their first message opens a 24-hour window in which your Page can reply freely.
Is it free, and do you store anything?
It's free, with no account. The link and QR code are made in your browser: nothing is sent to MuChat.
